Profile

Prior to joining Texas Woman’s University in January of 2006, Dr. Leavell served as a Lecturer in Teacher Education at the University of North Texas and as a professor in the Music Education Department at New England Conservatory of Music. His public and private school experience includes teaching at Miami Senior High School, Miami Edison Senior High School in Florida, Krum Middle and High School and The Selwyn School [Pre-K – 8 th] in Texas.

Dr. Leavell’s scholarly interests include learning theory and practice at all levels and schooling from the student’s perspective.
