Profile
Brenda Head has been a Texas public school educator for 25 years in the elementary and middle school. She has taught kindergarten, language arts, math, Gifted and Talented, Reading Recovery, and currently teaches English as a Second Language through a program designed to meet the educational and linguistic needs of students in kindergarten through the fourth grade. In 2007, she completed State certification for Principal, EC-12. Although her mission is lifelong learning to increase the academic achievement of children, she also has the opportunity, through an adjunct role, to influence future teachers. The past four years she has taught undergraduate courses that focus on learning theory, child development, and implementation of instruction. Her objectives are to equip students with skills in classroom management and lesson design and to establish their understandings of the strategies for best practice. She believes that the high quality education Texas Woman's University offers education majors will impact the success of students across Texas.
