Profile
Prior to joining Texas Woman’s University in August 2006, Dr. Casey was an elementary school principal in the Austin Independent School District in Austin, Texas. While working as a public school principal, Dr. Casey taught part time at Concordia University in Austin and taught bilingual teachers for the New Teacher Project, an alternative certification program, in Austin.
Before moving to Austin, Dr. Casey was a public school principal in the Clear Creek ISD, League City, Texas and Columbus ISD, Columbus, Texas. She was an assistant principal in the Pasadena ISD, Pasadena, Texas after teaching regular and bilingual classes in the Houston area.
Dr. Casey’s scholarly interests include teacher and principal preparation and effectiveness and diversity in education
Dr. Casey is a member of Phi Delta Kappa, Pi Lambda Theta, Phi Kappa Phi, the National Association of Elementary School Principals, the Texas Elementary Principals and Supervisors Association, the Association for Supervision and Curriculum, the Texas Association of School Administrators and the National Association of School Administrators.
