Students presently in the workforce on a Monday through Friday regimen may find this Saturday morning Orientation easier to manage within their existing busy schedules. Quite streamlined, this morning only session will tend to include many graduate students from the Health Care Administration, Library and Information Studies, as well as Nursing disciplines. (For Nursing, this will involve those participating in RN to BS, RN to MS, and MS programs.) This Orientation session for January 14th will begin in the morning by meeting in Lecture Hall 2120 on the second floor.

Although the handouts will remain the same as in the other Orientation sessions, the number of face-to-face encounters with related members of the Texas Medical Center and TWU community is limited. From 8:00 a.m. through 11:15 a.m., the majority of students will hear about parking, campus security at night and on the weekends, access to buildings, financial aid, class registration, as well as have the opportunity to attend to email account set-up, becoming familiar with Blackboard, and securing a TWU ID Badge. At 11:15 a.m., Health Care Administration and Nursing students will break off into academic-related discussion groups. The HCA session will conclude about 1:15 p.m. The majority of Nursing students will be scheduled to secure their ID badge beginning about 12 noon following the meeting with department advisors, and will depart following completion of that task. (MS Nursing students will proceed to the ID Badge Station at 11:15 a.m., then meet with Dr. Brenda Binder.  The RN to BS, RN to MS Nursing students will have a session from 11:15 a.m. - 1:15 p.m. with Connie Jennings, and go from there to the ID Badge Station, concluding about 2:00 p.m.) *A light lunch will be provided for all participants who stay through the noon hour.*  Following the Orientation sessions that day, optional tours of the Texas Medical Center will be offered to newcomers with an interest in learning more about this "city within a city".
