Immunization as well as Flu Shot Clinics
During the first month of Fall and Spring semesters here at TWU - Houston Center, Immunization Clinics are held with the on-site cooperation of U.T.H.S. A flu shot clinic is typically offered the latter part of October, and orchestrated in much the same fashion. As students step into the clinical setting, having up-to-date immunization records with The University claims high priority. These records can be faxed to Denton at the Student Life Office, and the technology now exists for students to check their compliancy status online.
Accessing Your Immunization Record
To verify your immunization record, log into your Pioneer Portal Account, and click on "My Info". Under that heading there will be a list with an inclusion of the topic "Immunization Info". Click on that link, and it will open up to display your immunization record. As necessary, please print a copy of that for yourself and/or your instructor.
Questions about Health Care?
Personal communication is a priority with the TWU Student Health Services. If you are questioning whether or not you need to see a healthcare provider, or even if you just have a medical related question, you are invited to contact their office at (888) 898-8825 and speak with one of the staff members directly. The Denton Student Health Pharmacy extends its services to students here in Houston for those with chronic prescription needs. Ordered medication can be sent to your residence directly, and billed to your student account or credit card.
Student Health Insurance
The Office of Student Life acts as a conduit for the Student Health Insurance Program. TWU has a relationship with Academic HealthPlans to provide insurance plans for currently enrolled students. Information can be found on the web site, or in brochure form at the Student Life Office. International students with J-1 or F-1 status are required to maintain health insurance coverage. For those students from other countries who have insurance either through their sponsoring Embassy or U.S. employer, health insurance waiver forms can be obtained through the Student Life Office. More details about this subject matter, including deadlines and criteria for insurance selection, can be found at Student Health Services - International Students.
For additional information regarding student health related needs, visit Student Health Services. Their convenient toll free number is (888) 898-8825.
