International origins: Kenya, Pakistan, India, Nepal, Middle East

Compliments for SHS

  • Easy and quick to obtain appointments
  • Excellent protection of privacy
  • Fast delivery of prescriptions and test results
  • Good quality and quantity of educational events and sponsored services
  • Very informative website
  • Comfortable atmosphere for students

Wishes/ Desires/Needs from SHS

  • Longer hours, specifically nights and/or weekends
  • Simplify and/or waive student insurance requirement
  • Reevaluate insurance needs of international students
  • Address expense of current insurance policy
  • Support services for diabetics, menopause, elder- and child care
  • Chiropractic care
  • More frequent health fairs, blood drives, and screening events
  • Greater staff diversity
  • Free (sample) and/or reduced cost medications
  • Financial assistance

Suggestions for SHS

  • Maximize visibility
    • TWU home page announcements
    • Flyers about events and/or location
    • Simplify finding SHS webpage (list under “Health,” create shortcut on home page, etc.)
    • Run periodic advice pieces or columns in Lasso (health, sex, weight, stress, etc.)
    • Outside marquee or advertisements display board
  • Present educational programs about insurance needs and requirements
  • Hold orientation sessions (possibly separate from general orientation)
  • Continue “Lunch & Learn” or similar programs on wellness and current health concerns
  • Offer occasional promotional “specials” or discounts on services or pharmacy items
  • Congratulate yourselves for doing such a great job with limited resources
