Student Health Services offers a variety of services to assist students in maintaining good health. The scope of clinic services emphasizes primary and preventative healthcare.   

Medical Services

Medical services offered include:

  • Well Woman Exams (including a pap smear)
  • Gynecological exams and treatment
  • STD testing and treatment
  • Contraceptive Advice, Counseling, and Prescriptions
  • Treatment of Infections, like colds and flu
  • Allergy and Asthma care
  • Athletic and Routine Physicals
  • Injury care (sprains, strains, and laceration repair)
  • Emotional and mental health treatment**
  • Referrals for specialty care

Medical Services Pricing

Office Visits

  • Regular Office Visit: $15
  • Well Woman Annual Exam: Starting at $75
  • Mental Health Office Visit: $40 for initial visits
  • Follow-up Mental Health Office Visit: $25
  • STD Testing: begin at $55

Common Tests

  • Pregnancy Test: $10 for urine test, $20 for blood test (plus regular office visit-$5 venipuncture fee if blood test is utilized)
  • Strep Test: $12 (plus regular office visit)
  • Mono Test: $15 (plus regular office visit)
  • Flu Test: $25 (plus regular office visit)

Immunization Services

Immunization services are available Monday - Thursday, 8am to 4pm, and Friday, 8am to 11:30am & 2pm to 4pm. Certain immunizations are required by health science majors. For more information on immunization requirements and pricing, please visit our immunizations page.

Pharmacy Services

Student Health Services offers pharmacy services through Drug Emporium in Denton.  Prescriptions are delivered to the clinic twice daily for pick-up or mailed to students for a small fee. Students wishing to use the pharmacy service to fill prescriptions written by personal physicians must complete required pharmacy forms and prescripstion must be brought or faxed to Student Health Services.

Prescriptions from private physicians are also accepted. Please have prescriptions from private physicians faxed to our office.  Prescriptions can also be mailed to students in Dallas and Houston for a small postage fee.

Nursing Services

The Ask A Nurse advice line is available during business hours to answer student questions. Simply call 940.898.3827. Calls are answered in a timely fashion and all messages left by 4:45 will be answered on the same business day.   Nurse Visits are available free of charge on a walk-in basis. Students are able to speak to a nurse to ask questions or determine their need to see a medical provider.
