The 2010 Orientation Leader Team welcomes new students to the TWU campus during all New Student Orientations (aka Academic Planning & Registration - APR) and Pioneer Camp. The Orientation Leaders (OLs) promote positive attitudes, minimize anxiety for new students and assist new students with personal and academic concerns.

TWU OLs are carefully chosen to represent the University and assist in your transition to TWU. They share their experiences as a student, encourage campus involvement and provide information about campus resources and services.

Potential Orientation Leaders must meet the following criteria:

  • Maintain a 2.5 minimum cumulative GPA from the time of application through Pioneer Camp 2012 (August 26, 2012);
  • Completed a minimum of 12 semester hours by the end of Fall 2011;
  • Able to communicate and uphold Texas Woman’s University’s policies and any special guidelines which might apply specifically to the Orientation Program; and
  • Maintain good academic and disciplinary standing with the University throughout the program.

What are the responsibilities of being an OL?

  • Must attend all trainings, overnight retreat, 2-day APR's, a 1-day orientation session and Pioneer Camp.
  • Must have good interpersonal and communication skills and be able to relate to people from diverse backgrounds.
