Employee Benefits: Military Leave
University employees who are members of the State Military Forces or
the reserve components of the Armed Forces are entitled to a leave
of absence not to exceed 15 working days in a federal fiscal year
for authorized training or duty without loss pay or benefits. A federal fiscal year is October 1
through September 30. The 15 days need not be consecutive.
After exhausting
the 15 days, the employee may use accrued annual leave or be placed
on LWOP status (or a combination of the two) for the remainder of
the active duty period.
A university
employee called to state active duty as a member of the state
military forces by the Governor because of an emergency is entitled
to receive emergency leave without loss of military or annual leave.
This leave is not limited and will be provided without a deduction
in salary.
