EMBA SPECIFIC INFORMATION

Information Specific to the EMBA Program

Please make sure you are a member of the eMBA network

    • This is located on the opening page of your Blackboard – under the tab Organizations
    • If you are not a member please send us an e-mail at:  EMBA@twu.edu,
    • This is the location for most of the non-academic information. You may find all types of helpful information (schedules, advisor codes etc.)
    • This location has the “most current and correct” information. It will be more accurate than the printed schedule and what is posted on the TWU website.
    • Please check this site often – it is your lifeline for new and important information.

Course Sequence

The required course selections for the first semester are:

  2. Business Ethics & Legal Environment – Bus 5933
  3. Business Decision Making – Bus 5663

If you have already taken one of these courses – at the graduate level AND the course is less than 5-years old, we may be able to transfer that class. The maximum hours students may be able to transfer is 6-credit hours. If you have questions please call –     940-898-2121

2nd Semester

  • BUS 5433 – Managerial Accounting
  • BUS 5133 – Marketing Management
  • BUS 5903 – Elective

3rd Semester

  • BUS 5243 – Administrative Managerial Finance
  • BUS 5923 – Global Business

For your Final semester you should take:

  1. Applied Business Environment – Bus 5893
  2. Leadership – Bus 5453
  3. Management of Operations – Bus 5963

Degree Plan
After you have completed 12-semester hours, it will be time to submit a degree plan. The plan is located on the eMBA network. This form requires you to download first, save it, and then fill in the information. You must provide an “expected” semester that you will finish all of your coursework. Your degree plan “form” is located in the “Document” section of the emba network. Please download and save this file to your computer (or disk) before you enter any information. This is an important document that you are responsible for submitting to the School of Management – please send it by e-mail to: EMBA@twu.edu

Faculty Advisors

On your admission letter from the graduate school, your faculty advisor will be listed. We suggest you make contact with your advisor sometime during the first semester. Your advisor will be responsible you giving you academic guidance. When in doubt, ask questions! You’re Academic Advisor and Professors are resources for you.

Transfer credits

If you have prior graduate credits and the classes are not over 5-years old, then these credits might be eligible for transfer credit. Please send an e-mail to EMBA@twu.edu for consideration and evaluation.

Parking and locations

Houston Campus –      6700 Fannin, Houston, Texas 77030 - (713-794-2000)
Commonly used parking for commuting students can be found in the Smith Lands Lot (2103 S. Braeswood). This lot can be accessed from South Braeswood and Old Spanish Trail. Within the Medical Center, there is no free parking.
Plano – Plano ISD Sockwell Center 6301 Chapel Hill Blvd, Plano, Texas 75093 – (469-752-4752). There is no charge to park. Sufficient parking is located in the front and both sides of the building.
Ft. Worth – Region XI Service Center 3001 North Freeway, Ft. Worth, Texas 76106 – (817-740-3600). There is no charge for parking. A patrolled parking lot is located just north of the building
Denton Main Campus – 304 Administration Drive Denton, Texas 76201 - The main campus is located at the corner of University Drive and Bell Avenue. If you are coming on a weekend then you will not be charged for parking as long as you do not park in a handicap designated parking space (unless you have the proper credentials) or park in any designated state or non-parking areas. If you come on a weekday, you must locate the parking kiosks on Administrative Drive. Please tell the parking lot attendant you are just visiting the campus.
Dallas Parkland Campus – 1810 Inwood Road, Dallas, Texas 75235-7299 – (214-689-6500) Parking is available on the west and south side of the building.
