How to Audition
1. Fill out the scholarship application and FAX or mail it to us. Print this from: Music Scholarship Application Form above.
2. Call the Music Office, 940-898-2500, to schedule a specific audition time.
3. Make application to the University. You may not be awarded a scholarship until you have been accepted for admission into the University.
4. Total performance time will average 5-7 minutes in length.
Singers should memorize two contrasting pieces from the classical repertoire.
Instrumentalists should prepare two pieces or movements from the classical repertoire.
Pianists should prepare three pieces representing different style periods, at least two of which are from the classical repertoire.
An accompanist will be provided, or you may bring your own. No taped accompaniments are allowed.
5. A live audition is preferred, but a high-quality CD,
DVD, or VHS tape recording may be sent to the address
above and marked “Attention: Music Scholarship
Committee.” Deadline for video tapes is Thursday, February
19, 2009.
Substantial scholarship assistance is available to outstanding graduate students,
including the prestigious Coffey Endowed Scholarship.
