Jamie Lipton
Adjunct Instructor, Low Brass
Jamie Lipton holds a
Bachelor’s degree in music education and euphonium performance from
Northwestern University where she studied with Rex Martin. Ms. Lipton
earned a Master’s degree in euphonium performance from the University of
North Texas where she is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in
euphonium performance as a student of Brian Bowman, with concentrations
in trombone, tuba, and conducting. An award-winning performer, Ms.
Lipton was the first place winner of the Tubonium Workshop Euphonium
Competition in 2006 and the Potomac Festival Euphonium Competition in
2005 and a two-time finalist in the Leonard Falcone Euphonium
Competition.
Ms. Lipton was invited
to perform as a soloist and in ensembles at the 2006 International
Tuba and Euphonium Conference in Denver, Colorado. As a member of
the University of North Texas Graduate Euphonium Quartet, she has been a
guest artist at the Texas Regional Tuba and Euphonium Conference and the
Sotto Voce Chamber Music Institute. Ms. Lipton also appeared at the
2005 Texas Music Educators Association Conference as a member of the
University of North Texas Wind Symphony, and can be heard on several of
their recordings on the Klavier and GIA labels.
In addition to teaching
at Texas Woman’s University, Ms. Lipton is also in demand as a private
instructor for area band programs, including Lewisville, Flower Mound,
and Marcus High Schools.
