Rebecca Norwood
Adjunct Assistant Professor of Dance
Dr. Becca Norwood began studying dance at age three with the Virginia Tanner Creative Dance Program in Salt Lake City, Utah. She graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelor's in Modern Dance in 1992. She received a Master's degree in Dance from Brigham Young University in 1996. Her doctoral work at Texas Woman's University focused on the creative process in choreography, culminating in her dissertation entitled, “Knowing in Motion, ‘Rightness,' and the Emergence of a Choreographic Epistemology." She is currently taking her philosophical explorations into the studio and online teaching a variety of courses that explore the meaning of dance in culture as well as in the choreographer's individual life. She receives a great deal of inspiration from her husband and four sons.
