Calendar for SACS Visiting Committee Activities
November 18-21, 2002


Monday, November 18, 2002:
2:00 p.m.
 

 

 

Organizational meeting for Committee Members, Conference Room, Radisson Hotel & Eagle Point Golf Club.
Each committee member will be asked to report her or his preliminary evaluation of the Institutional Self-Study and other documents.
 
4:30 p.m.
(approx.)
 
Organizational meeting concludes.  Educational Program Subcommittee meeting will convene.
 
6:45 p.m.
 
Vans depart Radisson for TWU campus.
 
7:00 p.m. Reception followed by dinner, TWU Conference Center.
   
9:00 p.m.

 
Dinner concludes; vans ready for transportation back to Radisson.
 
Evening Continue reading and preparation.
 
   
Tuesday, November 19, 2002
7:00-8:00 a.m. Breakfast at Radisson (charge to room).
   
8:15 a.m. Vans depart for TWU campus.
   
8:30 a.m. Orientation to campus workroom.
  (Board of Regents meeting room, Administration Conference Tower.)
Coffee, juice, and snacks will be available.
   
8:45 a.m.
 

 

Committee Meeting with President Ann Stuart, ACT.
President Stuart will present us with a brief overview of her vision for the University and answer questions from Committee members.
   
10:00-3:00 p.m.

 
Campus work time.  Appointments (including lunch appointment, using TWU courtesy card in the campus cafeteria) and resource study.
   
3:00 p.m. Vans leave for Radisson.
   
3:30 p.m.




 
Meeting of committee at Radisson conference room to discuss perceptions gained during the first day and areas needing follow-up.
Each member will be asked to give a report of findings to date and to share possible recommendations and suggestions.
   
5:30 p.m.

Committee meeting concludes.  Meeting of Educational Program Subcommittee for update of progress.
 
Time TBA Hendrix and Bonner depart for airport for flight to Houston.
   
6:45 p.m.

 
Vans leave to take Committee for private dinner at Wildwood Inn, a Denton restaurant.
 
8:30 p.m. Vans return to Radisson.
   
8:45-11:30 p.m.


 
Individual resource study and writing.  TWU support staff will be available if needed from 9-11 p.m.
Show Lawson some writing during his period.

 
Wednesday, November 20, 2002
7:00-8:00 a.m.
 
Breakfast at Radisson (charge to room)
 
Time TBA Doran and Raines leave for Dallas campus.
   
8:15 a.m.

 
Vans leave Radisson for TWU campus.
Drinks and snacks in workroom.
 
8:30 a.m.

 
Appointments (including lunch appointment in campus cafeteria, using card), resource study.
 
11:00 a.m.



 
Educational Program Subcommittee meeting, campus workroom.
Except for those traveling to Houston or Dallas, team members with responsibilities in Section IV should not make appointments 11-12.

1:15 p.m. First van leaves TWU campus for Radisson.
   
1:45 p.m. Second van leaves TWU campus for Radisson.
   
Time TBA Hendrix, Bonner, Raines, Doran return from trips to Houston, Dallas.
   
2:30 p.m.







 
Committee meets in Conference Room, Radisson, to:
1. Reach consensus on specific recommendations,
   suggestions, commendations.
2. Reach consensus on evaluation of self-study and
   complete form.
3. Reach consensus on conditions of eligibility and
    complete form.
4. Reach consensus on recommendation for compliance with
   Criteria and complete form.
5.Agree on format for exit conference.
   
5:00 p.m. Adjourn for writing.
   
Evening



 
Dinner at hotel or elsewhere (transportation needed). More work or rest after dinner.  TWU support staff available 9-11 p.m.
Show Lawson wording of any recommendations, suggestions, commendations developed to reflect consensus of afternoon meetings.
 
 
Thursday, November 21, 2002:
6:45-7:45 a.m. Breakfast at Radisson (charge to room).  Check out of hotel.
   
8:00 a.m.



 
Committee meeting in Conference Room, Radisson.
Seek consensus for last minute changes, if any. Rehearsal for exit conference. Give Lawson a disk copy and a hard copy of your report at this meeting. Also the list of persons interviewed.
 
8:30 a.m.

 
Lawson and Crump leave by car to meet with President Stuart to review recommendations and suggestions before exit conference.
 
8:45 a.m.

 
Vans leave for TWU campus.  Air passengers should put luggage on the van at this time.
 
9:00 a.m.


 
Exit conference, Third Floor, ACT.
The Committee member responsible for each section will read ONLY the recommendations, suggestions, and commendations for his or her section.
   
10:00 a.m.
 
Vans depart for DFW and DAL airports.  Lawson will remain on campus to merge and edit reports.
