As of August 21, 2015, all travel assistance awards for funding during the fall semester have been made. No additional applications for fall travel are being accepted.
Applications for funding during the spring and summer semesters are still being accepted.
The Travel Assistance Fund enables faculty to defray some of the travel costs associated with presenting scholarly outcomes at professional conferences or attending meetings where they will receive major awards. In order to fund travel to conferences throughout the year, Research and Sponsored Programs (ORSP) will allocate money for fall (September 1 – January 15), spring (January 16 – May 31), and summer assistance (June 1 – August 31). It is anticipated that 20 awards will be given during the fall, 20 awards during the spring, and 12 awards during the summer. A maximum of $800 will be funded.
Applicants must be full-time faculty of Texas Woman’s University with a teaching appointment for 2015 – 2016. Adjunct faculty, faculty members with part-time employment or on modified service, and students are not eligible to apply. Only one trip per person will be funded in a fiscal year.
Faculty may apply for funding as soon as they receive formal notification of acceptance or award. Applications must be submitted on the current form; incomplete applications cannot be sent forward for approval. The application for funds should be received in the Denton ORSP office at least two weeks before departure although more time must be allowed for foreign travel requests. Applications will be reviewed on or around the 20th of each month.
