The SERS technician can look at instruments to help determine the faulty
part and/or mechanism and aid in its repair by tracking down vendors who sell
needed parts, help maintain scientific instrumentation, organize in-house training sessions, suggest and write procedures on how to run an instrument
properly. If SERS is unable to repair a scientific instrument, the technician can
search for an affordable technical service that is able to get the instrument up
and running quickly.
