Thirteen applications to the 2013-2014 New Investigator Research Enhancement Program (REP) competition were received. The deadline to submit proposals online was 5:00 pm, Thursday, October 3, 2013. Applications will be reviewed on Friday, November 15, and awards made by December 15.
The New Investigator REP provides seed money for TWU tenure-track full-time faculty who are not yet tenured. The primary purpose of the Research Enhancement Program is to provide seed money so that faculty members will be able to compete more successfully for larger research grants from external sources for continuation of their research. The REP provides support for all types of faculty research.
All TWU full-time tenure-track faculty members who are not yet tenured are eligible to apply and serve as investigators. Awards are limited to $8,000 and all grants end August 31 of the fiscal year. The Research Support Committee looks favorably on proposals that are meritorious in the particular discipline; will enhance the applicant’s record of scholarship and research; will provide financial support and research experience for graduate students; and will furnish preliminary data for a project with good prospects for continuation through outside funding.
The application process for the REP has substantially changed this year and applications must be submitted via SharePoint by 5:00 pm Thursday, October 3. In order to complete the application process, the system-generated cover page with attachments must be routed for signature and the signed cover page received in ORSP no later than Tuesday, October 8, 2013. In addition to the change in the submission process, the guidelines have also been modified to reflect changes in the federal funding environment as well including the requirement for an NIH Biosketch (click here for instructions, template, and sample biosketch).
Please contact Ms. Annie Plummer at 940-898-3253 (email email@example.com) or Ms. Tracy Lindsay at 940-898-3377 (email firstname.lastname@example.org) if you have any changes regarding the new proposal requirements or submission process.

If you are accessing the site from an off-campus computer, you may need to add "@twu.edu" after your username to log in. Depending on the security settings of your computer, you may be required to log in more than once. Once you are logged into SharePoint, you will press the "new" button to initiate a new REP application. You will be able to save and edit the form until the SUBMIT button is actually used. DO NOT use the upload button to upload other files. More detailed information about using the online system can be found in the application guidelines and instructions.
