| Description of research activities: Dr. Smith’s research interests lie in the areas of deaf students’ and teachers’ of the deaf use of the Internet. He is also interested in research-based practices and science and technology instruction in the deaf education classroom. A third main interest of his is K-12 teachers’ of the deaf knowledge of science, mathematics, technology, and social sciences. Other interests include the identification of “highly-qualified” teachers of the deaf throughout the U.S., and issues affecting women who are deaf/hard of hearing. | |
