Description of research activities: Dr. Duquaine-Watson’s background in multiple theoretical fields and methodologies, particularly Women’s Studies, American Studies, and Anthropology, enables her to imagine and create ways of engaging the complexities of gender as it intersects with other identities and is situated within broader economic, social, political, and historical contexts.  Her areas of expertise include feminist cultural anthropology, theories of motherhood and reproduction, and pedagogy.  Her current research projects include:  A) a book-length manuscript entitled, Mothering by Degrees: Single Mothers Pursuing Postsecondary Education; and, B) an examination of the phenomenon of high-order multiple births.
