| Description of research activities: Dr. Britt's research investigates a novel hypothesis for a general explanation of enzyme catalysis. The model rejects the textbook explanation that the primary source of enzyme catalytic power is an exclusive transition state complementarity of the enzyme active site. Dr. Britt tests the model with thermodynamic and kinetic investigations of enzyme conformational changes and of the interactions of enzymes with catalytically relevant ligands. | |
