2002-2003 Chancellor's Research Fellows
Ten faculty will participate in the second Chancellor’s Research Fellows Program this academic year. They were selected from 10 applications for the Protégé component of the program and 7 applications for the Mentor component.
The award recipients are as follows:
- Dr. Lettie Albright, Reading, who will be mentored by Dr. Sylvia Vardell, Library & Information Studies
- Dr. V. Bruce Grossie, Jr., Nutrition & Food Sciences, who will be mentored by Dr. Patti Hamilton, Nursing
- Dr. Ann Malecha, Nursing - Houston, who will be mentored by Dr. Judith McFarlane, Nursing - Houston
- Dr. Huanbiao Mo, Nutrition & Food Sciences, who will be mentored by Dr. Sarah McIntire, Biology
- Dr. Philip Yang, Sociology & Social Work, who will be mentored by Dr. Melinda Holt, Mathematics & Computer Science
The protégé cohort were selected for their strong potential for obtaining external research funding. Fellows in the mentor cohort are expected to have a successful track record of research productivity as well as external funding.
Awards to Proteges are $6,000 each for individual research needs. Mentors will receive awards for research of $5,000 each.
