Graduation Information

Degree Plans

  • Review the Student Graduation Checklist to make sure and graduate on time.
  • Submit Degree plans one year prior to the expected date of graduation. Undergraduates use the DARS Degree Plan Verification Form.
  • Graduate Students see the Graduate School Degree Completion Information.
  • Requirements to receive honors recognition at graduation: A minimum of 30 semester credit hours must be earned at TWU before the final semester to qualify for this recognition. Graduation honors recognition at the commencement ceremony is based on the cumulative GPA at the end of the semester prior to the final semester. Graduation honors recognition as recorded on the diploma or posted to the official transcript is based on the cumulative GPA at the end of the final semester.The cumulative GPA ranges for these graduation honors are as follows: 
    • Summa Cum Laude              3.900 and above
    • Magna Cum Laude                3.700-3.899
    • Cum Laude                            3.500-3.699

Application for Graduation

  • The Graduation Application for Spring 2012 will be available beginning Tuesday, November 8, 2011. The application deadline is Wednesday, February 1, 2012.
  • Information regarding Spring 2012 Commencement details will be available in early March 2012.
  • Students who will be graduating in August 2012 and want to walk in the May 2012 commencement ceremony should apply for graduation at this time.
  • All students must apply online for graduation through the Pioneer Portal.
  • Review the How to Apply for Graduation Guide and the Graduation Application FAQ before completing the application. Once you apply for graduation, you will be blocked from registration after your final semester! Your final semester is the semester in which you complete your degree requirements. The registration block is removed when you actually graduate from your program and apply for a new degree program; or you withdraw from this graduation application in writing to the Registrar's Office (for undergraduates) or the Graduate School (for graduate students).
