Undergraduate credit hour load
- Fall or Spring semester, an undergraduate may not enroll for more than 19 semester credit hours
- Summer, which includes Summer I (former Maymester), an undergraduate may not enroll for more than 17 semester credit hours.
*Exceptions require the approval of the department chairperson, program director, or associate dean. Exceptions will only be considered if additional course work is in the best interest of the student, and the student is in good academic standing with a grade point average of 3.0 or higher for the previous two semesters.

Undergraduate Students
Fall, Spring, Summer (10 week summer) semesters:
- Full time: 12 + credit hours
- Half time: 6 - 11 credit hours
- Less than Half time: 1 - 5 credit hours
Summer 1 (3 weeks)
- Full time: 3 + credit hours
- Half time: 2 credit hours
- Less than half time: 1 credit hour
Summer 2 and 3 (5 weeks)
- Full time: 6 + credit hours
- Half time: 3-5 credit hours
- Less than half time: 1 - 2 credit hours
Graduate Students
Fall, Spring, Summer (10 week summer) semesters:
- Full time: 9 + credit hours
- Half time: 6 - 8 credit hours
- Less than Half time: 1 - 5 credit hours
Summer 1 (3 weeks)
- Full time: 3 + credit hours
- Half time: 2 credit hours
- Less than half time: 1 credit hour
Summer 2 and 3 (5 weeks)
- Full time: 6 + credit hours
- Half time: 3-5 credit hours
- Less than half time: 1 - 2 credit hours
