Professional Interests:   I am particularly interested in measurement issues, specifically functional outcome measures and how they relate to disability in older populations at risk for increased dependence. I have also tested the efficacy of patient-specific interventions to reduce fall risk in elderly, community-dwelling persons. My current research efforts are focused on the development of quick tests to screen for performance deficits in persons with lower extremity osteoarthritis, specifically persons with Total Knee Arthroplasties who want to maintain a high level of function. My teaching interests encompass measurement, geriatrics, orthopedics, and physical agents. I have performed research in those areas and strive to use the most current evidence in my courses. For more details, please review my curriculum vitae.
