TENURE TRACK FACULTY POSITIONS

Summer 2005
The School of
Physical Therapy, Dallas Campus, seeks faculty members with
expertise in one or more of the following areas: neuromuscular
rehabilitation, orthopaedic manual therapy, women’s health, integumentary
management, geriatrics. The Houston campus seeks a faculty
member with expertise in one or more of the following areas: exercise
science, sports/orthopaedic physical therapy, women’s health. Other
combinations of expertise will be considered by both campuses.
The successful
applicant will possess an earned post-professional doctoral degree (PhD
preferred) in physical therapy or a related discipline. A postbaccalaureate
(entry-level) degree from an accredited physical therapy educational program
is preferred. At least 3 years of clinical experience as a licensed
physical therapist and eligibility for physical therapy licensure in Texas
are required. Certification as a clinical specialist is an asset.
Previous
teaching experience is expected, along with a definable research agenda.
Teaching responsibilities will be in content areas that match the
applicant’s expertise and departmental needs. Teaching opportunities exist
in both the entry-level master’s (MS) and post-professional (MS & PhD)
degree programs. Co-teaching and collaborative research are priorities for
the School of Physical Therapy.
Rank and salary are commensurate with education and experience. These
fulltime, tenure track positions are available in Summer 2005. Application
review will begin in Spring 2005 and continue until the positions are
filled.
TWU is a Carnegie
Doctoral/Research-Intensive institution. TWU is a coeducational, public
university with over 300 students enrolled in the School of Physical
Therapy’s graduate programs. In operation since the mid-1960s, the School
offers a 26-month professional MS degree program and two post-professional
programs that culminate in either the MS or PhD degree. All degree programs
are taught on both the Dallas and Houston campuses by 21 faculty members.
Development of an entry-level DPT degree program is a high priority for the
School.
