Science in Physical Therapy Admission Requirements
General Admission
Requirements
An applicant must have a bachelor's
degree in physical therapy from a college or university accredited by a regional
or general accrediting agency, or an equivalent degree from a foreign university
or college. All transcripts of college or university work completed in foreign
countries must be sent to
Office of International Education on the Denton
campus at (940) 898- 3048 for more information.
For application to the Houston
campus, the deadline for receipt of application for "degree-seeking" status is
October 1st for Spring Semester, and April 1st for Fall Semester.
A "B" average (3.0
on a 4 point scale) on the last 60 hours of undergraduate work and all prior
graduate work is expected. The applicant shall present an official transcript
from each university or college attended.
In addition to the general requirements
for admission to the Graduate School, prospective masters students also must
meet the following specific requirements of the School of Physical Therapy:
1. Submit
admission application for Graduate Admission with appropriate application
fee.
United States citizens, Permanent Residents, and
International Students -

2. Cover sheet for

3. Submit two letters of recommendation, preferably including
one from the last employer and one from the last
school
attended.
4. Submit a statement indicating educational objectives and
focus of professional and research interest. Include
an
evaluation of personal strengths and weaknesses.
5. Submit a current resume.
6. Arrange an interview. A telephone interview with the
applicant or with designated out-of-state interviewers
may
be arranged if circumstances preclude an on-site
interview.
7. A current copy of a license to practice physical
therapy in Texas may be required.
8. International students also must submit a minimum score of
550 on the written TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign
Language) or a score of 213 or better on the computer
generated version of the TOEFL.
Also required is a minimum score of 55 on the TSE and 5 on the TWE.
Beginning January 2007, the required TOEFL-iBT section scores for
admission to the post professional program are as follows: Writing
24, Speaking 26, Listening 18, Reading 21. For more information
