School Districts

TWU will strive to grant a student's request concerning a preferred location for their practice based-experience; however, the school districts may have other obligations or other factors may determine your placement. Students will need to include a first and second choice.

Criminal Background Forms for these districts are available from Sharon Masten, Professional Development Center, Stoddard Hall, Room 202C.  Or students may request forms to be mailed by contacting smasten@twu.edu.  If requesting the forms to be mailed, please include your name, mailing address, and the school district of your choice.  Criminal background clearance requirements and conditions vary by district. Each student will be informed individually of his/her requirements depending on the district choice.

Out-of-area students or students with a contract-position within a public school district (teacher or paraprofessional but not a substitute) should email smasten@twu.edu for specific placement instructions. Substitutes follow the same guidelines as general students requesting placements.

The districts have asked that all the TWU placements go through the Professional Development office to ensure that proper procedures are followed. Students at districts without proper authorization can become a liability for the districts as well as TWU. Please help us honor the district's request.
