List of ISD Choices for Student Teacher Placements

TWU will strive to grant a student's request concerning a preferred location for their student teaching experience; however, the school districts may have other obligations or other factors that may determine your placement. Students will need to include a first and second choice district, selected from the following list, on their online student teaching application.

Students must attend one of the student teaching enrollment meetings prior to submitting their background check for student teaching.  All of the above districts require a background check for student teaching. Students should visit TWU Blackboard to obtain a copy of the district’s background form, an instruction sheet for submitting an online background check, or a combination of the two. (Instructions along with an access code for self-enrollment into Blackboard will be provided at the Student Teacher Enrollment Meetings.)  ISD background forms and ISD computer generated confirmation of an online background check must be submitted to the Professional Development Center with all other student teaching paperwork, by the student teaching application deadline.

Background checks submitted for observation may not be used for student teaching.
