Experiential Learning:

All NFS undergraduate and post-baccalaureate students are encouraged to participate in the Student Dietetic Association (SDA).† Leadership opportunities and experiential learning opportunities are available through this organization throughout the year.† For more information, send an inquiry to†nutrfdsci@twu.edu †or†visit the department in Old Main, room 307.†

NFS Dietetic Internships:

The NFS department has two dietetic internships accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) in Denton and Houston.† These programs require graduate credit leading to a masterís degree and prepare the successful graduate to become a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist.† Eligibility for these dietetic internships requires the completion of a bachelorís degree and meeting the requirements to earn a Verification Statement of Completion.† For more information, refer to the following resources:

School Nutrition Specialist (SNS) Internship:

The SNS Internship accepts qualified applicants who have a minimum bachelorís degree and meet other required coursework.† SNS interns earn a masterís degree in Food Systems Administration along with completing a minimum 900 hours of practical experience in the school nutrition environment.† For more information, refer to the following resources:
