The tDPT is a hybrid program, combining on-site and online content at both the Houston and Dallas campuses. The onsite component of a class typically consists of 2-3 weekends (Fri and/or Sat.) per semester, with the remainder online.
The requirements of the tDPT for a licensed physical therapist with a Master’s degree (with a minimum of 66 graduate credits) will be comprised of a minimum of 24 semester credit hours of courses, which are divided into 18 hours of “core” courses and 6 hours of electives. Five of the required six “core” courses have an onsite component. Each course is 3 credit hours. A series of electives are offered throughout the year in UE Rehabilitation, Pediatrics, Geriatrics and Woman’s Health, most of which are online.
A total of 90 approved post-baccalaureate semester credit hours are currently required by TWU to award a doctoral degree. Additional coursework may be required for students who hold MS degrees with fewer than 66 credits).
