PKP Student Scholars

The Phi Kappa Phi Student Scholars (ΦKΦSS) is an extension of the Texas Woman's University chapter of The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, which has been recognizing the scholastic achievements of students at Texas Woman's University since 1981. ΦKΦSS seeks to recognize the academic excellence of its outstanding student citizens and foster the love of learning among the TWU community in general.

Member Involvement Points System

To encourage member participation, the PKPSS offers the following point system. The system is subject to the following criteria:

• Any member of PKPSS, including associate members, can earn points;
• Points accumulate over the course of your membership in PKPSS;
• Report your activities through this form;
• Both points and membership in the TWU chapter of Phi Kappa Phi will be validated to receive a discount on graduation regalia.

Reward Levels

• 35 pts+ qualifies chapter members for a $4 discount on each graduation recognition item
• 25-35 pts qualifies chapter members for a $2 discount on each graduation recognition item
• Fewer than 25 pts results in no discount

Possible Activities and Points

PKPSS Involvement & Promotion

• Attend PKPSS meeting - 5 pts (videoconference & online chat are available)
• Wear a PKP t-shirt to a PKP TWU or PKPSS meeting - 2 pts
• Like the PKPSS Facebook page - 4 pts (one-time point opportunity)
• Share our PKPSS Facebook page - 1 pt for each time shared (maximum 5 shares per semester)
• Serve as a PKPSS Officer - 15 pts (2 semesters of service)
• Moderate a Love of Learning discussion board on PKPSS Blackboard - 5 pts
• Participate in a Love of Learning discussion board on PKPSS Blackboard - 3 pts each post
• Post on PKPSS Facebook or Blackboard about something that has challenged you to think, books you have read, or links to interesting information - 3 pts per post
• Attend a TWU PKP general meeting or other event - 4 pts
• Attend a TWU PKP recognition event - 4 pts
• Attend TWU PKP Banquet & Initiation Ceremony - 6 pts
• Service on a PKPSS Subcommittee - 8 pts

Volunteering and Fundraising Activities

• Little Free Library - 1 pt per donated item; maximum 3 items per semester
• Book Drive - 2 pts per donated item; maximum 3 items per semester
• Fundraising - 4 pts per 1 hour involvement (e.g., planning, promoting, preparing, and/or service at event)
• Volunteering - 4 pts per 1 hour involvement (e.g., planning, promoting, preparing, and/or service at event)
