Students with Behavior Disorders

TWU offers an occasional course series in treating students with severe emotional and behavioral disorders. 

Practical competencies are emphasized in these courses. School-based practice skills are emphasized, but are applicable to hospitals, juvenile detention, after-school settings, or other similar programs.
 

Summary of the skill sets that will be learned: 

  • Identifying & evaluating behavior disorders 
  • Designing & implementing individual and group programs 
  • Writing & presenting occupational therapy programs to school personnel 
  • Intervening with school personnel 
  • Measuring program effectiveness 
  • Implementing a hands-on practicum

Instructor

Sally Schultz, PhD, OTR is an authority in this practice area with recent experience treating BD students and numerous national presentations.

All courses were taught at the TWU-Dallas Campus, 8194 Walnut Hill Lane, Dallas, TX 75231 since 2000. Will be taught online since Fall 2002.
