One of the highlights of attending conference is the opportunity to reconnect with old friends, the opportunity to make new friends, and reaffirm our commitment to the advancement of occupational therapy. We are always pleased to share our academic course offerings, recognize the achievements of our students, alumni , and faculty, and discuss shared visions for the future of our profession.
Since 1943, the occupational therapy program at Texas Woman’s University has a taken great pride in building a legacy of learning in community for the purpose of meeting the health and occupational needs of society. The words written in the preface of the History of the Founding and Early Growth of the School of Occupational Therapy at Texas Woman’s University continue to guide our mission.
“The faculty of a school, which in turn serves a profession, which in turn serves an interlocking system of many professions, does not happen overnight. It goes back to each individuals search for his/her won place in life. And as these lives come together, they are borne forward by the history behind them and add a little to the history to come” (Jane Powell, & Cruz A. Mattei, 1989)
We look forward to the opportunity to continue to dialogue with you on how we can work in partnership to meet your professional goals, while advancing the profession of occupational therapy.
