On April 23, 2014, TWU's School of Occupational Therapy hosted the annual Mary Joyce Newsom Lecture. This year’s lecturer was new MOT Graduate Cissette Muster. She addressed attendees with lessons learned through her fieldwork experiences and as a new practicing occupational therapist in a talk titled The OT Toolbox – Using Skill to Empower Others. Cissette proudly passed on this tradition in a ceremony following the lecture when current MOT student Sarah Cupit was received the 2014 Mary Joyce Newsom Award. Also recognized were other nominees for the award, Jeanette Hernandez, Brian Kao, Jennifer Agnew Kaspar, Leslie Melton and Thelma Haydee Montemayor. This event honors a very special part of our School’s history as well as celebrates all of the accomplishments and hard work of the class of 2014.
