TWU - Student Life - Orientation
Academic Support Programs (http://www.twu.edu/ugs/academicsupportserv.htm) include several offices through which students can receive information about the honors program, advising, tutoring, and support for special needs. Recognizing that the learning experience of each student is unique, Academic Support Programs promote individual responsibility for academic success and help students develop increased confidence in their ability to learn.
We want you, the student, to be successful here at TWU and so we provide a variety of academic services to help you thrive in this academic climate - assistance in writing, math and science. Don't be afraid to use our services. We offer them without additional cost to help you!
To assure that you can register for the classes needed for your major, you should meet with an advisor before registration. The advisor will review any courses already taken and develop a plan for completing your degree. Students who have completed 30 or more credit hours should meet with advisors from the academic departments (http://www.twu.edu/academics/departments.html). If you are unable to attend orientation and meet your advisor there, you should contact the department of your major to make an appointment with their undergraduate advisor; contact information is usually found at the bottom of the departments' opening web page. Students who transfer with fewer than 30 credit hours are advised in the Academic Advising Center (http://www.twu.edu/aac).
