TWU Commuter Services

Welcome to the Student Union!

The Student Union is located at the heart of TWU. Inside the Student Union there are two cafeterias, the TWU bookstore, a US post office, a gameroom, computer labs, meeting rooms and a notary public. The Student Union also houses the Student Life Office , Center for Student Development and Commuter Services.

The official name of the Student Union is the Mary Eleanor Brackenridge Student Union named for the 1913 president of the Texas Woman Suffrage Association. The Student Union was built in 1967 on the former site of the Brackenridge residence hall and was renovated in 2000 adding an Art Gallery and a Cyber Lounge. Renovation started again in the Summer of 2004 to update the basement cafeteria known as the Underground adding more seating and a new gameroom.

Why People Come to the U

Located in the center of campus, the Student Union can be described as the campus living room. Whatever role you undertake at TWU, the Union provides daily services or conveniences to you through formal and informal associations. The mission of the Union is to provide a safe and educational environment to the TWU community. Student organizations and campus departments may utilize the Union for meeting rooms, confernece space, van rentals, locker rentals, advertising space and media needs.

Student Art Gallery

TWU students, faculty and staff will vote on their favorite art on April 15 and 16 in the Student Union and Art building. The winners will be given a two week time slot for their showing during the spring semester. For more information visit the Student Art Gallery webpage.
