Student Health Insurance ProgramWe encourage every TWU student to have health insurance. Each year some students suffer from a major illness or injury, on or off the TWU campuses, which requires medical attention or hospitalization beyond the services that the Student Health Service can provide. Although many families have some form of health insurance, these plans often do not cover the college student after age eighteen. If you are eighteen or older, and you are no longer living within the family household, please have your family evaluate their insurance policy to make sure you will still be covered. Costly medical bills can impose financial hardship. Texas Woman's University sponsors a Student Health Insurance Program for its students. The policy will be provided by Academic HealthPlans and all enrolled students will receive information about the policy, including a brochure, through the mail. The brochure and enrollment form are available below: 2008-2009 Policy Year Brochure The PPO Network for the Student Insurance Plan is the Texas TrueChoice Network. To find a provider, follow the link below: Texas TrueChoice Provider Network For more information concerning the policy or to enroll on-line, please contact Academic HealthPlans at 888.308.7320.
