Join us for Freshman* Orientation

*For freshman students starting in the fall 2008 semester.
We're excited you have chosen Texas Woman's University! To get you off to a good, strong start, we've designed an orientation program specifically for you. Orientation is required for all new students. Parents, family members and guests also strongly encouraged to attend orientation and contribute to your success.
Freshman Orientation is a three part program designed to help new students transition to campus. Freshman Orientation is required for all new students entering TWU with 12 or less college credit hours.
Register for Orientation
Once you have been admitted to the University, you will receive a TWU orientation brochure. In the brochure you will find a registration form for you to complete and return. If you prefer to register on-line, you may do so by clicking on the Register Online link. You must be accepted to the university before we can reserve your spot at orientation.

Part one: Academic Planning and Registration (APR) During this 2-day program, you will meet students, faculty, administrators and staff who will assist you in choosing the field of study best suited to meet your educational, career and personal goals. You will also take placement tests, tour the campus, meet with an academic adviser, register for classes, and become acquainted with campus life. You and your family will learn about academic programs, advising, financial assistance, housing and meal plans,... as well as the many services, facilities, recreational and cultural activities, available to TWU students. And, of course, you will have a great deal of FUN!
Part two: Pioneer Camp, August 20-24, 2008. You will become acquainted with numerous TWU services that enable you to have a successful college experience. Before the first day of class, you’ll have met new classmates, participated in fun activities, and become comfortable with the campus climate.
Part three: UNIV 1011 is a one hour credit bearing course designed to equip you with the knowledge and tools you'll need to make a successful transition to college level learning. You will gain an understanding of effective learning strategies, personal abilities, interests and values, and their cumulative impact on educational success.
