SUCCESS Mentoring Program

SUCCESS is an acronym for Supporting Undergraduates Collectively by Creating Educational Opportunities to enhance Skills and Scholastic Achievement. In previous years, SUCCESS has provided freshman and transfer students (PROTÉGÉS) the opportunity to share ideas with and learn from TWU Faculty/Staff Mentors and Peer Mentors outside a classroom setting. Through interaction with mentors, students are encouraged to excel academically, socially, and culturally while making a smooth transition into college life. Faculty/Staff and peer associations are important in creating opportunities for leadership and cultural support and can provide a supportive educational environment aimed at student development and academic success. First Year SUCCESS operates on a multicultural paradigm and encourages students to develop their intercultural communication skills so that they can be personally and professionally competent in a multicultural society.

Sophomore Year Community Mentor Program
The Office of Intercultural Services has partnered with University Housing to create a faculty and staff mentoring program for students who participate in the Sophomore Year Community learning community. Students will be paired with a faculty or staff member at TWU who will serve as their mentor and guide throughout their sophomore year. The goals of the program are to facilitate career exploration, leadership development, and personal growth. For more information on the Sophomore Year Community and the mentoring program, please contact University Housing.
