Redbud Awards

Redbud awards have been established in order to acknowledge and commend TWU student leaders, chartered & University sanctioned student organizations, and student organization advisers for exemplary performance in an academic year. These awards were developed to recognize their dedication and to emphasize the importance of co-curricular life in the educational process.

Redbud Awards include the following:
Outstanding Campus Leader
Emerging Student Leader
Outstanding Student Organization
Outstanding New Student Organization
Outstanding Faculty/Staff Adviser for a Student Organization
Glenda Brock Simmons Community Service Award

1. Awards are open to all TWU students, chartered & University sanctioned student organizations, and their advisers.
2. Organizations or students may be nominated for awards by faculty or staff at TWU, by a member of the organization, or by any student enrolled at TWU. Self-nomination is applicable in all categories except for Outstanding Faculty/Staff Adviser. No late forms will be accepted and no incomplete forms will be considered.
3. Nomination forms must be returned to the Center for Student Development, Student Center 1st floor, Denton campus or at the Student Life Coordinator's office on the Dallas Campus, by 5pm on February 25, 2006.
4. All persons nominated must complete a Biographical Sheet (and recommendation letter, if required), which will be mailed to the nominee upon receipt of a completed nomination form. Biographical Sheets/recommendation letters are due March 11, 2006.
5. An award review committee consisting of students, faculty, and staff will review all nominations for each award.
6. All awards will be presented at the Redbud Awards Festival on April 20, 2006 at 5pm in the Southeast Dining Room of Hubbard Hall, Denton Campus.
