Organizational Basics
Officer Responsibilities
Use the following guidelines to assist your student organization.
President
- Supervise the work of the other officers
- Serve as the representative for the organization to the University
- Preside over all meetings
- Provide direction for the organization
Vice President
- Supervise committees
- Select committee charipersons and keep up to date on committee work
- Serve as a substitute in the absence of the president
Secretary
- Record and distribute all correspondence and meeting minutes
- Handle all organization correspondence
- Keep membership lists accurate and up to date
- Maintain organization files and records
Treasurer
- Establish and oversee the organization annual budget
- Report regularly to the organization
- Manage day-to-day financial transactions
Committee Chairs
- Manage committees and provide them with direction
- Report to the vice president
- Chairs specific responsibilities and goals
