On-Line Resources
There are a number of resources you may access from our site. They include:
On-Line Assessments
We have partnered with Mental Health Screenings, Inc. to allow TWU students to assess themselves in regard to depression, bipolar disorder, alcohol, eating disorders, generalized anxiety and Post-Traumatic Stress. The assessments are free and confidential. These assessments may help you determine whether you would benefit from our counseling services.
On-Line Workshops
We have put the Power Point slide shows we use at our most popular presentations on our web site for you to be able to use. You can learn about a number of issues including: How to Get Along with Your Professor, Time Management, Stress Management, Reducing Procrastination, Studying and Taking Tests, HESI Preparation and Coping (for nursing students), Assertiveness, etc.
Counseling Center Self-Help Library
This library contains many of the handouts we often use in out presentations and when students want information about important topics. These include such things as assetiveness, emotions, depression, study skills, stress management, time management, etc. You can view and/or copy these handouts from this site.
Virtual Pamphlet Collection
This is a library of self-help material gathered from counseling centers around the country. This is a larger and more comprehensive version of our own Self-Help Library. You can view and/or copy handouts from this site.
Ulifeline
The Jed Foundation has created Ulifeline.org, a Web-based resource that provides students with a non-threatening and supportive link to their respective college's mental health center as well as important mental health information. Students are able to download information about mental health and mental illness, ask questions, be referred to the TWU Counseling Center to make appointments, and seek other help anonymously via the Internet.
CampusBlues
The college experience is challenging by design. Students learn about themselves and life by developing ways to adjust to new environments and support systems. This is an important process in becoming self-sufficient. CampusBlues.com is designed to facilitate student awareness and use of school resources. |
