Pioneer Camp

General Information

imageHow do I register for Pioneer Camp?
First Time Freshmen: All first year TWU students are automatically registered. Your color group will be the same as it was at APR (Academic Planning and Registration).

Returning Students New to TWU: Just because you aren't a freshman doesn't mean you shouldn't participate! You are new to TWU and this is a great opportunity to get to know TWU and make some new friends. Register for Pioneer Camp by calling the Center for Student Development at (940) 898-3626 before August 2008.

When does Pioneer Camp actually start?
On Wednesday, August 20th beginning at 10am, residents will be able to move into their residence halls. At 5pm that evening, join us for our fifth annual Student Block Party at the Hubbard Oval and Amphitheater.

How do I get a Pioneer Camp schedule? How will you know that I am participating in Pioneer Camp?
Great question!! You must attend the New Student Welcome Breakfast on Thursday, August 21st at 8:45am in Hubbard Hall. This will be a great start to your first full day of Pioneer Camp activities. Don't miss this wonderful opportunity to reunite with all of the friends you made at APR and make some new ones too! We will be joined by our Chancellor and President, Dr. Ann Stuart, who will officially welcome you as new students to TWU. All new students to TWU are invited to breakfast - even if you do not have a meal plan.

** Remember, you must attend the New Student Breakfast in order to pick up your Pioneer Camp schedule!! **

Do I have to pay for my meals during Pioneer Camp?
If you have a meal plan, it will start at Thursday morning's New Student Welcome Breakfast. Remember, all new students to TWU are invited to breakfast, even if you do not have a meal pan. The Student Block Party is free for all new students! For those new students without a meal plan, you may pay per meal at each dining facility.

Why should I go to Pioneer Camp?
