The following deadlines apply for specific programs.

First Time In College (FTIC) International Students
FTIC students who wish to apply to Texas Woman’s University should follow these steps:
1. Submit Foreign Transcript
Entering FTICs must present official secondary (high school) transcripts, diplomas, certificates and/or national test examination scores as given in their country. All applicants must possess the equivalent of an U.S. high school graduation based upon a combined elementary and secondary pattern of 12 years with the equivalent of a 2.0 GPA based on a 4.0 grading scale. Please refer to the table below for minimum equivalents to a U.S. high school education.
Transcripts or other academic records must be presented according to the following criteria:
- Official transcripts or marksheets must bear the official seal and/or original signatures of school authorities from the issuing school. Transcripts must show a current issue date and be sent directly from the school. Photocopies or copies attested by non-school authorities will not be considered official.
- Certificates issued by regional or national examining boards (GCE, GCSE, SSC, HSSC, WASC, KCSE, CXC, HKCE, School Leaving, or other appropriate matriculation certificates) must be official certificates or official attested copies.
- Official English translations must accompany official transcripts not prepared in English.
- When an original document cannot be duplicated according to the secondary school, university, or examining board policy, attested copies may be substituted. Attestations must be made by the examining board/officer or designated school officials of the school attended. Copies attested by notary officials, translators, or other governments posts are not acceptable substitutes.

- Yugoslavia Prior to 1980--Matura. Since 1980--Secondary School Leaving Diploma
- Zimbabwe Advanced and Ordinary level General Certificate of Education Examining Board Certificates
2. Take TOEFL Test
The TOEFL test is required of all international student applicants from non-native English speaking countries. TWU requires score of 550 on paper-based or 213 on computer-based TOEFL for admission.
TOEFL Exemptions

SAT/ACT
The SAT and ACT are not required for admission to TWU as an international student unless you graduated from an U.S. high school. However, if you have taken either test, we do suggest that you have your test scores forwarded to the Office of Student Records, PO Box 425649, Denton, TX 76204, as scores can be considered for scholarship applications and waiving of the THEA test requirement.
ACT — 23 composite, 19 English, 19 mathematics
SAT — 1070 combined, 500 critical reading, 500 mathematics
All test scores and results must be sent directly from the testing agency to Texas Woman’s University. TWU’s institution code is 6826 for the SAT and 4224 for the ACT. |
