Basic 40-Hour Mediation
Prepare for 40 intensive hours of dispute resolution theory and practice. In addition to covering topics that meet the standards for training mediators in Texas, this course gives special emphasis to psychological, financial, cultural, legal, social, and procedural dynamics of mediation. Lectures, role plays, case studies, and demonstrations are designed to instill the skills needed by successful mediators. This training may be applied toward partial fulfillment of the requirements for membership in the Association for Conflict Resolution. This course complies with the standards set by the Texas Mediation Trainers Roundtable and Chapter 154 Texas Civil Practices and Remedies Code. $999 - Add $50 after January 10, 2008 / June 4, 2008 (approved for 38.5 participatory hours, 2.5 ethics hours)

Family Mediation
A brief review of mediation techniques will precede an in-depth look at the psychological and economic impact of divorce, family dynamics, domestic violence, and components of family law. Topics will include complex custody, support, visitation, tax, and property issues, as well as child development and family systems. The class will also explore ethical issues of family mediation and feature technological advances utilized in marital property disputes. This training can be used to meet the requirement for judicial appointments in family cases in Texas. This course complies with the standards set by the Texas Mediation Trainers Roundtable and Chapter 154 Texas Civil Practices and Remedies Code. $799 - Add $50 after August 7, 2008 (approved for 28.5 participatory hours and 2.5 ethics hours) (3 ethics hours may be taken separately - $225 until August 7, 2008, Add $50 after this date.

Conflict Resolution
A core course for any conflict specialist, this class provides instruction in such essential skills as empathetic–communication, active listening, productive questioning, managing group dynamics, consensus building, and collaborative problem solving. An understanding of the sources of conflict, coupled with a knowledge of conflict styles, enhances the ability to resolve disputes and enables the conflict specialist to work in a variety of settings. Negotiation
Everyone is confronted daily with opportunities to negotiate, but few have the skills to achieve optimal results. Become a negotiation expert, identify your strengths and acquire the skills to get the best results from every conflict. You will practice effective collaborative problem solving, learn from marketing and psychology research and increase your ability to facilitate negotiation in processes such as mediation. You will also be coached to discover and hone your best, personal negotiation style. This course is useful for experienced mediators as continuing education. $799 - Add $50 after March 27, 2008.

Mediation Practicum (Non-Credit Only)
Required of all candidates seeking a Certificate in Conflict Resolution, this clinic gives mediators the opportunity to gain experience under personal supervision. Requirements of the practicum include observing, participating in, and conducting actual mediations arranged by the instructor. Students will receive a Certificate in Conflict Resolution once courses have been successfully completed and the instructor has no reason to require further development from them. $950
