Production Management Institute

Over 95% of last year attendees rated the PMI program as "Outstanding or Excellent"

May 2 - 8, 2008
Texas Woman's University - Denton, Texas

"Attending PMI has been a very positive experience. After 18 years in the industry, it is good to refocus. Much of the information helps to clarify what we learn in the field. The networking opportunities are amazing. A new manager in our industry can cut 5 years off the learning curve upon completion of this program."

Gary Fuller, General Manager
Robison and Smith, Gloversville NY

An Investment, Not An Expense...

Six information packed days your Production Managers can't afford to miss. Increase production, streamline your workflow, motivate your employees and increase profits!

PMI is the foundation for all production management education programs for TRSA and UTSA. Sending production personnel to PMI is not an expense, it is an investment that will pay dividends by developing the management and technical skills and improving the performance of plant/production managers.

This institute is designed for
  • Plant Managers
  • General Managers
  • Industry Suppliers
  • Engineers
  • Supervisors

How PMI will benefit you

  • Provide both entry-level and experienced production management personnel with comprehensive knowledge and understanding of production management principles and practices.
  • Improve both your own performance and the performance of plant operations in your company.
  • Helps you to better understand how your performance affects the total business performance of your company.
  • Networking with others from across the country about ideas and experiences.

Objectives

The objective of PMI is to enhance and develop the supervisory or management performance that affects you and your company by:

      • educating and providing you with a thorough understanding of
         production management and plant operation skills and leadership;

      • enhancing your supervisory and leadership skills.

A Formal Educational Program

This program is designed to provide maximum benefit to you and your company. PMI is an intensive formal education program that involves one week of education a year for three years. Each year the program provides 50 hours of instruction over a six day period. In addition to the formal classroom instruction, you benefit greatly from the informal exchange of ideas and experiences with others from across the country. Testing ensures satisfactory completion of each year. To get the maximum benefit from this management development program, you should complete the three years in succession rather than interrupt the sequence.

Program Outline

PMI starts at a basic level in Year I and becomes more advanced in succeeding years. It focuses primarily on topics related directly to production management; however, each year of the program includes instruction in management, leadership and communication skills for the production environment.

Recognition Award

Students who successfully complete each year of the program are awarded a certificate that makes them eligible for admission to the next year. They also receive five Continuing Education Units for each year of the program successfully completed. Upon satisfactory completion of all three years, graduates achieve professional recognition in the textile supply and service industry.
