Welcome to the Office of General Counsel. The General Counsel performs legal and administrative work for the University, represents the University in litigation claims, civil rights cases, hearings, and other judicial proceedings, interprets statutes, and provides legal advice on matters concerning the University. The General Counsel also prepares legal briefs and approves contracts, agreements, and other legal documents. The General Counsel serves as Open Records Liaison for the University and as Secretary to the Board of Regents.
