Facilities Management’s Vision Statement

This plan defines the elements of a framework to establish a new vision for Facilities Management and a new direction for TWU's facilities revitalization and sustenance program. This vision, "A Partner In Learning," defines Facilities Management’s mission to support educational excellence through quality leadership and professional management principles. Core values and guiding principles as outlined in the Facilities Managment’s Code of Ethics establishes the moral and business fabric of the organization. Subsequently, the strategic direction is highlighted by the goals, objectives, and strategies presented in this plan. This strategic operating plan is supported by a continuous improvement process. The plan creates a responsive, flexible, and competent service organization. TWU is confronted with an unprecedented scale of complexity, diversity, declining enrollment, and a need for facilities to deliver new competitive programs. While addressing these factors, technology has moved from an industrial, to an informational revolution where the only constant is change. There is an explosion of change occurring in the labor market (including an increasing number of minorities and women), demographics, finance, and technology. These changes are significantly affecting the nature and environment of higher education and their impact on facilities management. Our vision is one of corporate styled operations with accountability and customer service as our theme.
