Five Master's programs are offered within the Department of Nutrition and Food Sciences. All Master's students take 3 hrs of graduate level statistics or research design and 1 hr of seminar. Generally, a minimum of 30 hrs of coursework is required with a thesis and 42 with coursework option.

M.S. in Nutrition (Denton and Houston)
TWU graduate students who seek an M.S. in Nutrition take NFS 5314 (Nutrition and Human Metabolism) and NFS 5363 (Human Nutrition in Disease) plus other graduate courses in nutrition, biology, or chemistry. This degree prepares students for leadership positions as health practitioners or for advanced study in nutrition.

Online M.S. in Nutrition
The Department of Nutrition and Food Sciences is pleased to announce the offering of a newly approved Online M.S. in Nutrition program at Texas Woman's University. This is a 100% online program that allows you the flexibility to complete the degree at your own pace (not to exceed 6 years) from anywhere without any disruption to your career. This program option is excluded from the Combined Master's/Dietetic Internship programs in the Department of Nutrition and Food Sciences.
M.S. in Food Science (Denton)
TWU graduate students who seek an M.S. in Food Science take NFS 5003 (Food Chemistry) plus other graduate courses in nutrition and food sciences. The M.S. Food Science degree prepares students to work in management or research positions within the food industry.

M.S. in Food Systems Administration, a predominantly online program (Denton and Houston)
TWU graduate students who seek an M.S. in Food Systems Administration take NFS 5773 (Organization and Management for Foodservice Systems), NFS 5763 (Food Safety & Foodborne Illness), and NFS 5713 (Human Resource Management in Nutrition Care Systems), plus other graduate courses in nutrition and management. Students receiving this degree are prepared for management careers in foodservice/nutrition departments of hospitals, schools, universities and other institutions.

M.S. in Exercise and Sports Nutrition (Denton)
TWU graduate students who seek an M.S. in Exercise and Sports Nutrition take a variety of courses in nutrition and kinesiology. This program will train students to help bring about lifestyle changes in exercise and nutrition habits for individuals and groups. It will also provide students with opportunities to acquire strong research skills and applied learning experiences in both the classroom and in health-related settings. Graduates of the program may work in private practice, hospitals, clinics, rehabilitation centers, government agencies, public schools, professional and amateur sports teams, and university/collegiate athletics.
