Selecting a Program

The Master’s curriculum is designed to prepare advanced practice nurses eligible to take certification examinations in a variety of areas.

Students who elect the CNS, NE or NP track, although enrolled in clinical courses with the same identifying course number, have differentiated clinical experiences reflective of the selected role. Students electing to switch clinical roles from CNS or Nurse Educator to NP or vice versa, or students returning for a post master's certificate in a different clinical role will be required to repeat the entire clinical course sequence.

Nurse Practitioner (NP) areas of study available are

  • Adult Health
  • Family Health
  • Women’s Health
  • Pediatrics

Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) areas of study available are

  • Adult Health
  • Child Health

Academic Advising

Each student is assigned an advisor at the time of admission. The student must meet with the assigned advisor prior to enrollment to plan an individualized program of studies that is sequenced to match the student’s progression and completion times. Subsequent advising occurs each semester for electronic registration information.
